Not Suitable for all cases

I recently purchase a Momentus XT 2.5 Inch hard drive and was looking for an adatper to fit it in to a 3.5 inch cage in my Antec P180 Case. Having purchased AKASA components before and having always been very satisfied with them this was my initial choice. The quality of this bracket was no exception and it came with all the necessary screws. However when trying to install it, I found that it did not fit the HD Cage. The Antec P180 has very specific mounting positions for drives and this bracket was too short. The bracket is 114mm in length and the "3.5 inch" screw holes are 60mm apart. It could be the same for other custom/enthusiast cases. I will find a use for it in another build I am sure.

Good build quality but poorly researched

Whoever designed this mounting kit seems to have made a basic mistake: the screw holes for attaching this mount to a desktop case are too small for most normal 3.5 / 5.25 inch drives. Hence, although SSDs will fit into the mount, the mount cannot be screwed in to my case. Very disappointed with this obvious flaw. The RD guy must have been on holiday the day Akasa designed this.

Looks great but does not fit

Like the other review I see for this item, the mounting holes do not match the holes for the standard IDE HDD bay. Also to note, that the large gap between the appature and the SSD would stress the SSD if the screws were to be tightened... Having looked for alternative solutions, I would recommend the DYNAMODE adaptor, made from plastic with flexibility to avoid stressing the SSD mounting positions. The point of having a chunky aluminium mounting to dissapate the heat is lost, A because an SSD does not generate a significant amount of heat, and B, without a good mounting contact surface, any heat would not be dissapated.
