Excellent laptop - but a fix needed

This is an excellent laptop but be warned of an initial problem. The first thing I did was to download and install the latest Windows updates, but when I afterwards tried to shutdown the laptop it would keep turning itself on again after a couple of seconds. I eventually discovered that the fix is to update the BIOS (which makes me nervous after trashing a PC trying to do that many years ago!). Downloading the latest BIOS flash software and BIOS update from ASUS's web site (after registering) thankfully worked ok and I can now shut the laptop down (apparently it's only a problem when you are operating on mains power - I wish I'd known that before as it's safer than taking the battery out and then pulling out the mains lead during the second or two that it wold power down for!).
