Spot on value

Perhaps this model has been updated since the other reviews were written? Out of the box and running my system within minutes. I have had this psu in my system for two weeks now and it is still silent - so silent in fact, I had to put my hand behind the tower a few times to feel for air escaping from the vent! Plenty of grunt to run my machine... Phenom quad, 4gb ram, radeon 5770, 2 x 18x dvd burners, seagate barracuda 500gb hdd, maxtor 640gb hdd, 4 x case fans.

Like I said, spot on value.

A very good PSU

It's quiet enough as I can't hear it over the other fans in my system. There are enough connectors for what I need as it comes with 7 molex, 2 SATA, 2 floppy and a PCIE for a video card, as well as the usual motherboard connectors. Regarding the motherboard connectors I was please to find that the main ATX connector wires are just long enough to reach from the PSU in the bottom of my case (Antec 900) right up to the top of the board where the connector is. There's not a lot of slack however, certainly not enough to route the cables tidily. These wires are just tie-wrapped together and not covered in a flexible mesh like my last PSU (Jeantech). So far it's just sat there quietly doing It's job, so for the money it would appear to be a great bit of kit. It can run my ageing system flat out no problem: Athlon64, 1Gb ram, 7800GS, 3xHDD, 2xDVD-RW, 5x case fans

Very pleased so far

I have a reasonably modest system, 3.13ghz e8500 core duo, 4gb ram, 8800gt graphics, 4 hard drives, 2 ssd, dvd burner, x-fi soundcard and a wifi card, and 3 case fans - it was perfect. 1 x 20+4 pin, 1 x 4pin mb, 2x(2 x 4pin molex + floppy connector), 2x(2 sata hard drive connectors) and a 6 pin pci-e lead. All leads been of a sensible length with plenty to spare in a large case where the psu is situated above the motherboard. ratings - +3.3v - 28a +5v - 30a +12v1 - 22a +12v2 - 22a -12v - 0.3a +5vsb - 2.5a I only rated it 4/5 stars as with it been recently purchased I can't vouch for how long it will last, but for now its quiet, runs cool and seems of decent build quality. I am very pleased with it, thanks again dabs, excellent value for money

you get what you pay for!

In terms of practicality I can't fault it. Good range of connections, far reaching cable, and plenty of power. The 24 pin mobo connector comes as a split 20 pin plus 4 on an adjoining cable so you can use it in 2 configurations, which is a nice touch.

The only complaint I have is the silent issue, it ran for half an hour silent as you like, but after that there was a god awful screaming coming from the fan.

That said, it is cheap, and it does do the job!
