I bought two of these for our home server, one for all of our DVDs and CDs and one for everything else. They do exactly what they're supposed to do - quick and quiet. The only problem I had was that the Dabs Value SATA150 x2 controller (Silicon Image) would not recognise them until they'd been formatted on a machine with motherboard SATA150. Once formatted (snore), all was then fine. No jumper to change or anything (NB There is a jumper but it has nothing to do with speed. See Hitachi web site). Other than that, the CD/DVD one is too small!

Well packed when delivered, very easy drive to install.
just slightly under the 1 Gigabyte as advertised.
when operating the drive is fairly noisey witt the heads searching the platters.
but otherwise a good to replace a broken or old drive.
